Surgery Instructions

        If your pet is scheduled for surgery, no food after 10 PM the day before surgery and no water after 7 AM on the day of surgery.  Patients scheduled for cataract surgery need to be admitted to the hospital at 9 AM. Other surgeries need to be admitted to the hospital by 10:30 AM. Depending on our morning appointments, surgery is usually started around 11 AM. Pets are typically ready to go home around 3 to 4 PM the same day.

Special anaesthesia instructions for pets who are diabetic

         For those pets who are diabetic that need elective anaesthesia, administer the normal dosage of insulin with normal food and normal water on the day before surgery. On the day of surgery, no food or water and administer a half dose of insulin  at the normal time.
